What is a TAF?
TAF (Terminal Aerodrome Forecast) is a weather forecast for the airport area. It is issued every 6 hours and is valid for 24 to 30 hours, providing essential information for flight planning.
Change indicators in TAF:
- FM (From): Permanent change from a specific time
- TEMPO: Temporary fluctuations of less than 1 hour
- BECMG: Gradual change over a period of time
- PROB: Probability of occurrence (PROB30, PROB40)
Validity period:
The TAF indicates the period with format DDHH/DDHH (start day and hour / end day and hour). For example, 0112/0212 means valid from day 01 at 12:00 UTC until day 02 at 12:00 UTC.
